The Blelack dispersal at Stirling this month offered cattle which really were something special and as Mike’s love for the Aberdeen-Angus breed is no secret, it was definitely an opportunity not to be missed to add some superb females to our own herd.
Blelack Princess Carina U902 was an absolute stand-out for us. Sired by ONeills Black Bardolier (AI) (IMP), a bull noted for producing daughters with powerful performance traits. Her dam Blelack Princess Carina R508 is a true bull breeder, with three sons currently working in pedigree herds including Blelack Prince Colorado who sold for a high five figure sum in a private deal to Harestone.
Princess Carina U902 sold having been served by the 14,000gns bull Kilmaluag Eriskay and joined us at Foxhill for 32,000gns. We also purchased her May 2021-born daughter, Blelack Princess Carina X125, sired by Eriskay at 30,000gns. With all that breeding behind her, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this exciting calf.
The Princess Caroline family has been at the forefront for Blelack for some years, so we were delighted to secure Blelack Princess Caroline T867. By Weeton Evolution R447 whose progeny have achieved multiple top prices and show ring successes, we secured her for 28,000gns. She also proved herself by producing Blelack Prince Cartier who won the 2021 supreme championship at Stirling and later sold for 24,000gns, her heifer calf at foot sold for 16,000gns.
Again, looking ahead with young females we purchased a stand-out yearling heifer Blelack Evora W014. This January born yearling is a daughter of Eriskay. Her dam Blelack Evora T854 was considered one of the best cows in the herd by the Massie family and we purchased her for 16,000gns.
We are delighted with our Blelack ladies and are very much look forward to seeing what they will produce for us.
