Foxhillfarm Gracie

Foxhill Farm Gracie, a daughter of the noted Wilodge Vantastic, is the first progeny of the herd’s foundation female Bankdale Alice born in the Foxhillfarm herd.  Since her arrival, Gracie has been a stand out in the herd and was shown as a baby heifer at the Royal Welsh Show taking second in a strong class and then went on to dominate the winter pedigree calf show circuit before going on to win championships at both regional and National level.

The first of Gracie’s progeny to take to the sale ring was Foxhillfarm Louisvuitton. Having stood champion in the pre-sale show at the Carlisle Sale in February 2017 he went on to sell for 20,000gns when joining commercial producers Messrs Penny of Leeds. He’d previously stood senior male champion at Stars of the Future and reserve overall male champion at the English National Calf Show.

Meanwhile, Foxhillfarm Manhattan took the junior and reserve overall title at Carlisle in May 2017 before selling for 35,000gns. This is yet another Guards Boomer son, making him full brother to Foxhillfarm Louisvuitton. At the same sale Manhattan’s full brother, Foxhillfarm Montreal then went on to sell for 10,000gns.

In the summer of 2017, Gracie’s daughter, Foxhillfarm Looksthepart was part of the interbreed group of four at the Royal Highland, as well as standing reserve female and reserve overall champion to Mammamia. Meanwhile, at the Royal Welsh Show she joined Mammamia to win the Future Females Pairs competition and the interbreed exhibitor bred pairs title with Foxhillfarm Limitededition. As a yearling heifer in 2016 she was reserve junior female at the Royal Welsh.

Meanwhile, at Agrifest South West in November 2017, Foxhillfarm Nakita, an Ampertaine Gigolo daughter, won the Baby Beef championship.

At the 2017 Femme Fatale sale, Gracie’s daughter Foxhillfarm Lookatme sold for 7500gns, while at the same money her full sister Foxhillfarm Mellie. Both these heifers are by Guards Boomer.

In 2018 we offered a Gracie daughter, Foxhillfarm Oriel, at the Red Ladies sale in Carlisle, whereby she was sold for 10,000gns to Chris White for his Frogmore herd, based in Moreton-in-the-Marsh, Glos. Oriel is by Ampertaine Gigolo.

Glenrock Illusion

In 2014 a new girl entered the Foxhill record books when we purchased Glenrock Illusion from the Illingworth family in Carlisle for what is believed to be a World Limousin Record of 125,000gns.

By Goldies Comet out of the herd’s most successful breeding female, Glenrock Spangle, Illusion had been shown successfully in late 2013 when she stood junior and reserve interbreed champion at the Stars of the Future Calf Show before taking the junior and reserve junior interbreed championship at the Highland, the junior championship at Great Yorkshire and then the interbreed championship at Cumberland Show in 2014.

Illusion was purchased for her tremendous length and muscling and for the exciting prospect she brought to the herd. Following the sale, we sold a half share in her to Danny Sawrij for his Swalesmoor herd.

Glenrock Illusion

Her first progeny certainly helped to write the headlines with Foxhillfarm Mammamia topping our offering of the Foxhill Femme Fatales sale in Carlisle in May 2017 when she sold for 42,000gns.

By the home bred Foxhillfarm Irishlad, she returned home after the sale for further summer showing when she headed to Scotland to win the breed, interbreed championship at the Royal Highland Show. Then at the Great Yorkshire Show she was reserve breed and junior interbreed champion, as well as being part of the winning Blythewood Pair.

Mammamia then went on to win the reserve female championship, Females of the Future pairs title, interbreed junior heifer championship and interbreed team of five at the Royal Welsh Show.

Her full sister, Foxhillfarm Missworld was reserve junior heifer champion at the Royal Highland Show and second  to Mammamia at the Great Yorkshire Show, as well as second and reserve junior champion to her at the Royal Welsh Show. .

Also selling at the 2017 sale for 10,000gns was Foxhillfarm Missmoneypenny, a full sister to Mammamia and Missworld.

At the Brecon Spring Sale in 2017 an Illusion son, Foxhillfarm Miami topped trade at 6000gns having taken the championship in the pre-sale show. This one is by Sympa. Then at the Carlisle May sale Foxhillfarm Montpellier sold for 6000gns. This is another by the home bred Foxhillfarm Irishlad.

Foxhillfarm Napoleon, a son of Illusion by Jagger stood first in his class at the Stars of the Future Calf Show in 2017 and reserve champion, while at Agrifest South West in the same month Foxhillfarm Nigella, a Neuf daughter out Illusion, stood first in her class, Limousin champion and reserve interbreed champion in the pedigree calf section of the event.

Napoleon took to the show circuit in 2018 when he stood male champion and junior interbreed at Devon County, was part of the junior interbreed winning pairs at Royal Cornwall, as well as standing reserve male champion at the same show. He was then a class winner at the Great Yorkshire Show and stood second at the Royal Welsh.

During the 2018 winter show season, another of Illusion’s progeny did incredibly well in the form of Foxhillfarm Obama. By our home bred bull Foxhillfarm Jasper, Obama won his class and stood junior male champion at the Stars of the Future Calf Show and then won his class and stood male and breed champion at Agrifest South West before standing reserve Continental interbreed champion, behind our British Blue heifer, Foxhill Nadiya. Obama was sold having stood junior and overall champion in Carlisle and then sold for 8000gns.

Foxhillfarm Limousins certainly kicked off the pedigree sale season, post Cover-19 restrictions, at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Friday 31st July by selling to a top of 19,000gns for the 13-month old heifer, Foxhillfarm Primadonna.

Primadonna is a daughter of noted sire, Ampertaine Gigolo out of the highly successful show female, Foxhillfarm Mammamia, herself a daughter of the 125,000gns Glenrock Illusion. The dam, Mammamia, stood breed and interbreed champion at the Royal Highland Show. After spirited bidding, the fall of the hammer went to A Renton and HSB Redden Partners for the Meadowrig herd, Berwick Upon Tweed, Northumberland.

Foxhillfarm Royalty was the second highest priced unhaltered calf on the day. This one is full sister to Primadonna, being by Ampertaine Gigolo and out of Foxhillfarm Mammamia.

As a result of various successful flushing programmes a number of full siblings to Gracie are now in the herd with many bulls selling for high figure prices at the Carlisle sales.

Then in 2014 she stood reserve female and reserve overall champion at Devon County Show, reserve breed champion at the Royal Three Counties and first in her class at the Royal Welsh Show.

In the same year he was also reserve male champion at the 45th Limousin Anniversary Show in Carlisle, behind the herd’s main stock sire Trueman Jagger.
