Interbreed success at Bath and West

Last week’s Royal Bath and West Show was a hugely successful outing for the Foxhill sheep team, with our Charollais shearling ewe, 21XWY00619 taking the breed championship in the breed’s south west feature show before going on to be tapped out as Continental interbreed champion and overall interbreed champion under judge Brian Dallyn.

This stylish gimmer is by Rockvilla Ferrari was on her first show outing and is out of a homebred ewe. She now heads to this week’s Royal Cornwall Show.

Adding to the flock’s success were three other first prize winners, with Maerdy 20WLS2551, a Boyo Uncle Tom son, taking top in the aged ram class.

Leading the ram lamb class was Foxhill 22XWY00727, with flockmate 22XWY00720 taking third in the same class.

In the ewe lambs 22XWY00746 took top spot, while in the shearling rams it was a second prize ticket for 21XWY00649.

Across in the Suffolk classes Neville and Charlotte’s gimmer from their Foxhillview flock by Kinbally Kick Start won her class before going on to be tapped out as breed champion.

And on the final day the Charollais flock contributed two members to the breed’s interbreed championship winning team of six. It’s certainly great to be out at a major summer show again and catch up with many familiar faces.
