Earlier in the month, Mel was honoured to judge the Aberdeen and Northern Marts show potential calves and having been greatly impressed with the calves on offer, later secured the reserve champion for £4300.

This Naby Director sired heifer was bought from John and Craig Robertson, Pitlochry and on the day weighed 484kg and is now called “On The Money”.

Following the Aberdeen show and sale, another Limousin cross heifer was purchased from John Smith Jackson at the Kirby Stephen sale. This one, now named “Priceless” is by Shire Apollo and was purchased for £3200. Both her and On the Money will join Insufficient Funds, who was purchased at Ruthin for £8000, on the summer show circuit later this year.
