First stop for the team was to Agri Expo at Carlisle for the first of the winter calf shows. Our commercial Limousin X heifer, ‘The Duchess’ stood first in her class. Foxhill Princess Caroline B297 stood first in her class and went onto stand Reserve Heifer Calf Champion. Foxhill Prince Evolution B192 stood first in his class. Foxhill Dark Knight B195 stood third in his class. Foxhill Evora Black Voltage B196 stood fifth in his class.

Onto Agrifest, a local show to us, we took the Aberdeen Angus Calves, Foxhill Dark Knight B195 who was placed 1st in his Class and then became Native Champion Male he is sired by our stock bull Wensleydale Black Voltage out of Foxhill Delmonte Y163 and born in March. In the same class and came 2nd was Foxhill Prince Evolution B192 born in January sired by Weeton Evolution out of Blelack Princess Carina X125. Foxhill Princess Caroline B297 came 2nd in her class sired by Retties JFK and Blelack Princess Caroline T867 who is breeding well for us at Foxhill.

The first time we have bought the Limousin calf team out this year, Foxhillfarm Alberto was 1st in a strong class he sired by Ampertaine Elgin and out of Foxhillfarm Gracie, he then went on to be Champion Continenal Male Champion, Champion Continental Pedigree Calves and Reserve Junior Pedigree Champion. In the Limousin heifer class Foxhillfarm Adele was 1st in her class she is sired by Pointhouse Paul and out of Foxhillfarm Toplass who is a Foxhillfarm Nadiya daughter.

Then it was onto the Commerical beef classes with ‘The Duchess’ who was 1st in her class and she went on to be crowned Supreme Champion.

The next trip was over the bridge to sell Foxhillfarm Versace at Welshpool Market on Thursday 6th November our first homebred Charolais to be sold, sired by Lockend Knighthawk out of Gretnahouse Perfect he was full brother to Gretnahouse Ulric, Foxhillfarm Versace was placed 3rd in his class, he later on went to sell for 7,000gns we wish the new owners the best of luck with him and thank you to Maddie Clark & Gerwyn Jones for doing such an excellent job of turning him out and showing him for us while Team Foxhill where home preparing for the trip north to Stars of the future.

After a quick turn around back at Foxhill HQ it was off to Stars Of The Future at Stirling, the trip was worth while with our Limousin Bull Foxhillfarm Alberto placing 1st in his class and Junior Male Champion and Reserve Overall Champion. We also took Foxhillfarm Adele who was placed 2nd in her class and Reserve Junior Heifer Champion.

For the Angus bulls Foxhill Prince Evolution B192 was 2nd in his class, Foxhill Dark Knight B195 was 3rd in his class. Foxhill Princess Caroline B297 was 2nd in the Junior Female class born between 3rd and 28th March 2025.
