Foxhill team on interbreed winning form at Royal Cornwall

What a phenomenal show for the Foxhill team at this year’s Royal Cornwall Show. With a team of Angus, Charolais, Limousin and the Beef Shorthorn cow and calf for Mary Cormack, as well as the Charollais in the sheep lines, rosettes were flying across the board.

Leading the way for us was our senior Aberdeen-Angus heifer, Foxhill Princess Carina Z178. This August 2023-born heifer is by Weeton Evolution R447 and is out of the Kilmaluag Eriskay T203 daughter, Blelack Princess Carina X125 and started the day winning her class, then going female champion and breed champion under judge Ruth Perry.

Then in the championships on the second day she went local exhibitor champion, native champion and overall interbreed champion.

Also in the Angus classes, we took second with Gretnahouse Eva’s Honey Z499. These two senior heifers also teamed up to win the breed pairs competition. Meanwhile, our yearling heifer, Foxhill Princes Caroline A265 won her class and went reserve female and reserve overall champion, cementing a fabulous day in the Angus classes.

In the Charolais classes, our herd sire Hollywell Uncle Bob won his class and then went on to be male champion and overall breed champion. He was then tapped out to stand Continental champion in the interbreed championships. Our Charolais heifer Foxhill Victorious also won her class and then went female champion.

In the Limousin classes, our yearling heifer Foxhillfarm Vanity won her class and stood reserve female and reserve breed champion champion, while Foxhillfarm Vogue stood second. These two also won the breed pairs class.

Over in the sheep lines, Mike stood at the top of the line in the shearling ram class before going on to be male champion and reserve overall champion. This tup is by the 10,000gns Edstaston Bojangles.

We were also delighted to see Mary Cormack clinch the overall breed championship with her wonderful Beef Shorthorn cow Millerston Irania Rainbow and heifer calf at foot who has been produced from Foxhill HQ. Having won the breed championship, she then followed through on interbreed day as reserve overall interbreed champion behind our Angus heifer.

A great few days at Cornwall were capped on with winning the best kept lines in the cattle shed, credit to our hard working team of Amelia Phillips, Jennifer Hyslop, Maddie Clark and Harry Billings. All this couldn’t have been possible without this fantastic team at the show and back at Foxhill.

A huge thank you to Jennifer, Maddie, Amelia and Harry who did a cracking job at Cornwall!
