Late 2020 saw a new breed added to the Foxhill sheep flock, with the purchase of a brace of Rouge ewes from the dispersal of Percy Tait’s Knighton flock.

First to join the Foxhill team at 5000gns was the 2016-born Knighton Sugar Tits. By the successful breeding Knighton K010, she’s out of a homebred ewe by Romer Harry and was shown successfully as gimmer in 2019 taking numerous female championships, as well as breed and interbreed pairs champion at the Royal Highland Show.

Having previously bred a ram lamb that was sold privately to Colin and Wendy Phillips, she was also the mother of a 2800gns daughter in the sale.

We then couldn’t resist her daughter at 6000gns. This incredibly stylish ewe lamb, Knighton Wench, by Rainfall Universe, was clearly one of the best in the sale with a great body and style to match.

In their first season the Rouge team performed strongly on the show circuit, with Knighton Wench winning her class at the Great Yorkshire Show and going on to be female and overall champion and also made the short lead in the interbreed championship.

In the Rouge ewe lamb class, Foxhill Yokohama claimed the second prize spot. She is a daughter of Knighton Sugartits.
